Australia is a country in Oceania located in the southern hemisphere of the Earth, surrounded by the Indian, Antarctic and Pacific Oceans, and separated from Asia by the Arafura and Timor Seas. Australia is divided into six states (New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria) and two mainland territories (Western Australia).

Traditonal food
Prawn cocktail has been one of the country's specialities since 1970. The ingredients are peeled prawns, lettuce leaves, pineapples in half and cut into small pieces. In a bowl, put the pieces together with the finely chopped lettuce, the cooked corn and the prawns. The pink sauce is made with mayonnaise, ketchup, orange juice and mustard. A dash of cognac or brandy is also added. Mix and then pour the mixture with the prawns into the body of the pineapples. -

The Australian flag was adopted on 03 September 1901. It has a blue background, symbolising justice; on the extreme left, at the top, the English flag (Union Jack) recalling the fact that Australia was a British colony; below it a large star representing the Australian Federation, with seven points, one representing the Federation, and the remains of the States of Australia. -

Kangaroo is a quiet and carefree animal, they can stand up to two metres tall. They use their long tails as a balance aid to help them move around.
Types: Red kangaroos (Macropus rufus) are the largest, occupying central Australia. The eastern grey kangaroo (Macropus giganteus) is found in the fertile eastern part of Australia. The western grey kangaroo (Macropus fuliginosus) is found in New South Wales, near the Darling River. -

Sydney Opera House
Sydney Opera House is the most famous monument in Australia.
Sitting on Bennelong Point in Sydney on Sidney Harbour and designed by Danish architect Jørn Utzon of 20th century architecture.
The building comprises multiple performance venues, which together host well over 1,500 performances annually performances are presented by numerous performing artists, including three resident companies: Opera Australia, the Sydney Theatre Company and the Sydney Symphony Orchestra.
