    In 1606 Australia was discovered by a Deutch explorer named Willem Janszoon. He arrived at Cape York Peninsula. As more Deutch explorers arrived they evetually called the continent New Holland
  • First fleet of British ships

    The first British navigators arrived in Australia in 1788. The continent was divided into two parts. The Deutch ruled over New Holland, and the British called their side New South Wales.

    As more British people arrived at the coast of Australia, the indigenous people of Australia, the Aboriginals, started to feel uneasy about the foreigners. A war broke out between them in Tasmania.
  • The Gold Rush

    Gold had been discovered in Australia and a lot of workers relocated to the areas with plenty of gold.
  • The Eureka Stockade

    The Eureka Stockade was a rebellion from the gold miners who revolted against the Untied Kingdom.
