August was a Swedish playwright, novelist, & short-story writer, who made psychology & Naturalism into a kind of European drama that then later evolved into Expressionist drama. While he was in Berlin his was often seen at the Zum Schwarzen Ferkel, a local tavern. He is now very well known for all his work he has done such as The Defence of a Fool, The People of Hemsö, & many more
