Japan and the U.S. were rivals already. Japan wanted to take over China and we knew about it and watned to stop them. they were sure the USA would become involved with there claims in Asia. They thought they would attack us to scare us off.

President Franklin Roosevelt requested and received a declaration to go to war with Japan. He gave a 10 minute speech ending with "Oh help us God". Everyone thinks the Japanese people are spies because they went to Washington D.C. but many of them declared there loyalty.

China was against Japan in the beginning because they were taking there land. China appreciated us helping out by having an embargo against Japan. When we were bombed they(China) agreed to help us get back at Japan.

American B-29 Bomber dropped the worlds first deployed atomic bomb over the city of Hiroshima. It wiped out 90 percent of the city and killed 80,000 people immediately, later on killed thousands of more do to radiation.
