In the month of September the U.S. decided to place an embargo on Japan which means that they restricted any exports of oil, steel, scrap iron, and aviation fuel going to Japan. -
US Misses Warnings
The US learned of the attack and tried to tell Oahu but they were 2 hours late. They dismissed the radar reports of B-17 bombers coming from San Francisco. -

Between 7.55 am and 8:25 am there were combined torpedo plane and dive bomber attacks. -
Phase 2 of Attack
From 8:25-8:40am there was a lull in attacks. -
Phase 3 of Attack
From 8:40-9:15 a.m. there were horizontal bomber attacks -
Phase 4 of Attack
Between 9:15 and 9:45 a.m. there were dive bomber attacks -
Phase 5 of Attack
After 9:45 a.m. there were warnings of attacks and completion of raid -
USS Arizona Burning
After the attack on Pearl Harbor, there was an attack on the USS Arizona and it killed 1,177 servicemen on the ship. -
Causalities
United States: 2,335 servicemen were killed, 68 civilians killed,1178 were wounded, 188 planes, and 18 ships.
Japan: less than 100 men died, 29 planes, 5 midget submarines -
