Dalton
Came up with new ideas about atoms. -
J.J. Thomson
JJ Thomson discovers the electron, using properties of cathode rays. -
Rutherford
Ernest Rutherford known as the father of nuclear physics, developed the theory for the structure of the atom. He used a gold foil experiment, observing the scattering of alpha particles, and demonstrated for the first time the existence of the atomic nucleus. -
Neils Bohr
He developed the Planetary Model, which made it look like the electrons circled the nucleus in an ordital fashion. Also that the electrons could jump from one orbit to another, making it emit a light quantum. -
Schrodinger
He took Bohr's atomic model a step further when he started to perdict the position of electrons with a mathematical equation he created. His model became known as the Quantum Mechanical Model, or as its also called, the Electron-Cloud Model. This model brought on the idea of sub-energy levels and concentrations of electrons.
