Dalton Model
Dalton expained that alll elements are is formed of small atoms and that some elements have different masses. He had imagined atoms to be timy solid balls. -
Thomas Model
Thomas' theroy suggested that an atom is a positively-charged sphere with electrons combined with it. His model could be related to a muffiin( the positively-charged sphere) with berries(electrons)mixed in it. -
Nagaoka Model
His model of an atom was that it had a large sphere in the center with positively charge. His model can be realted to the planets revolving around the sun. Just as the planets revolve, so does the electrons revolve around the positive sphere. -
Rutherford Model
Rutherford believed that the atom is mostly empty space. Electrons revolve randomly around a small positive nucleus. -
Bohr Model
Bohr believed that electrons werent just randomly placed around the nucleus. His model showed electrons moving in a certain layers. He also believed that the atoms give off energy when the electrons move from one layer to another. -
Modern Model
From the 1920s a current model came to be with the work of many scientist. It shows the electrons as forming a negative cloud around the nucleus though, it's impossible to know exactly where an electron is at any given time. -
Chadwick Model
Chadwick discovered the neutron, explaining why atoms were heavier than the total amount of protons and neutron.
