    Democritus

Everything is composed of "atoms", which are physically, but not geometrically, indivisible; that between atoms lies empty space; that atoms are indestructible; have always been, and always will be, in motion; that there are an infinite number of atoms, and kinds of atoms, which differ in shape, and size. Of the mass of atoms, Democritus said "The more any indivisible exceeds, the heavier it is." But his exact position on weight of atoms is disputed.
  • John Dalton

John Dalton was born on September 6, 1766 and died on July 27th, 1844. He was a school english teacher who performed many experiments on the atom.
  • John Dalton

    John Dalton
John Dalton discovered many things such as atoms are tiny invisible particles, atoms of one element are all the same, atoms of different elements are different, and compounds are formed by combining atoms together.
  • JJ Thomson

JJ Thomson was born on December 18th, 1856 and died on August 30th, 1940. He was born in Manchester, also he won a scholarship to Cambridge University and finishe 2nd in his class. Where then he was chose to be the third Cavendish Professor.
  • Ernest Rutherford

Ernest Rutherford was born on August 30th, 1871 and died on October 19th, 1937. He won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1908.
  • Niels Bohr

Niels Bohr was born October 7th, 1885 and died on November 18th, 1962. He improved on Rutherford's model and was also a student of Rutherfords.
  • Erwin Shrodinger

Erwin Shrodinger was born on August 12, 1887 and died
  • James Chadwick

James Chadwick was born on October 20th, 1891 and died on July 24th, 1974. He worked with Rutherford as a partner, he became assistant Director of Research in the Cavendish Labratory.
  • JJ Thomson

JJ Thomson discovered the electron. He also discovered that the electrons were found inside of the atom. JJ Thomson was the first scientist to show that the atom was made up of even smaller particles.
  • Ernest Rutherford

    Ernest Rutherford
Ernest Rutherford discovered the protons and the nucleus, he showed that atoms have positive particles in the center and are mostly empty space. He did a gold, foil experiment how he discovered atoms were mostly empty space, and the nuclear atoms were dense.
  • Niels Bohr

Niels Bohr proposed that electrons move around the nucleus in specific layers or also known as shells. Also that every atom has a specific number of shells or layers that hold the electrons.
  • James Chadwick

James Chadwick discovered particles with no charge and he also discovered nuetrons. Also he found that nuetrons are found in the nucleus.
  • Erwin Shrodinger

Erwin Shrodinger discovered that electrons move around the nucleus in a cloud. Also that it is impossible to know where the electron is at any given time.
