The Manhattan project begins
The Manhattan project began and they started making the atomic bomb. While they were making it they decided to drop it on Hiroshima because the place didn't have any American prisoners there. -
Japan bombs the pearl harbour
On December 7th 1941, hundreds of Japanese fighter planes destroyed nearly 20 American naval vessels, including 8 large battle ships and over 300 fighter planes. After that, the US declared war on Japan, entering world war II. -
Germany surrenders
Germany agrees to surrender, ending the war in Europe. -
Atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima
On August 6 a B-29 bomber plane dropped the first atomic bomb onto the streets of Hiroshima. The people of Hiroshima didn't know what was going on because it had been a surprise attack. -
Atomic bomb dropped on Nagasaki
On august 9 another bomb dropped on Nagasaki. This one was more powerful than the one that dropped on Hiroshima. Lots of people died and the people that survived had to go live in a different place because their houses were destroyed. -
Japan surrenders
Japan surrenders, ending World War II.
the people in Japan were very poor after because they used all their money on weapons, that was why the Japanese surrendered.
