John Dalton: Solid Sphere model
He did many experiments with different chemicals to show that matter consisted of atoms. He did not know what they looked like but did know that they existed. -
J.J Thompson: The Plum Pudding Model
He discovered that atoms have electrons and proposed a model for the structure of an atom. He knew that electrons have negative charges and thought that the atom may have a positive charge. He used raisins on the top of pudding to use this model. -
Ernest Rutherford: The nuclear model
He bombarded atoms with alpha rays figuring that this could investigate the inside of an atom. He found out that electrons orbited the nucleus. -
Niels Bohr: The Bohr (planetary) model
He figured out that electrons do not spiral into the nucleus and explained why this doesn't happen. He also discovered that when electrons jump from a higher-energy orbit to a lower-energy orbit, they radiate energy and vice versa. -
Erwin Schrodinger: Quatum Mechanics Model
He discovered that atoms act very similar to particle waves. He showed that atoms were mostly contained and have a basic shape if an atom was stable and if not it is a little more misshapen. -
Allison Crawford: The chill model.
I discovered that I really like watching YouTube while having a nice hot cup of cocoa. I also discovered I really like building Lego sets.
