Atom

  • John Dalton- 19th Century

John hypothesized that an atom is a solid sphere that could not b e result of his research into gases. He realized that certain gases only combined specific proportions.
  • J.J. Thomson- plum pudding model

J.J. Thomson proposed the plum pudding model of the atom where most of the atom is composed of the pudding the positive portion and the raisins as the smaller electrons.
  • Ernest Rutherford-Nuclear Model

The model described the atom as a tiny, dense, positively charged core called a nucleus. nearly all the mass is concentrated, around which the light, negative constituents called electrons, circulate at some distance.
  • Niels Bohr- Bohr's model

Is a description of the structure of atoms especially that of hydrogen proposed 1913 by Niels. The model of the atom a radical departure from earlier, classical description, was the first Incorporated.
  • Erwin Schrodinger- Quantum Mechanical Model

Schrodinger discovered that electrons don't orbit the atom. He theorizes electrons move in waves and they have no exact location.
