Atahualpa was born in 1502, he died at August 29, 1533, Cajamarca peru. Atahualpa was an Inca leader or was a ruler of the Inca. The word, Atahualpa means, “Virile-sweet”. -

Atahualpa and Huascar
Half brothers Atahualpa and Huascar went to war from the death of Huayan which took place in 1528. Atahualpa won the battle that reached a peak in 1532. -

Francisco Pizarro and the Inca
At the end of 1532, thousands of Spaniards along with Francisco Pizarro, entered the territory of the Inca and Atahualpa and 180 men went to take care of it. They confronted them, yet they declared that the Inca should be captured and killed. -

Francisco Captures Atahualpa
Later in 1532, Atahualpa was taken captive by Francisco Pizarro or detained by him if you will. He did this to kill him and he feared for the spanish because he believed Atahualpa was plotting against them. -

Francisco Refuses Atahualpa's Freedom
A tiny bit later, November 1532, Atahualpa filled his prison cell with golden objects to try to buy his freedom. The Spaniards took the gold, yet Francisco worried about what would happen to him and his troops if he were to let him go. -

Leaderless and Unprotected Inca
During the captivity of Atahualpa, the Spaniards ransacked the unprotected Inca. The Inca survived, but were horrified by the thousands of attackers and the kidnapping of their leader. -

Atahualpa's Death Sentence
And around 1532 through 1533, the spanish objected that Atahualpa was plotting against them and it was true actually. This gave Francisco the excuse to kill him. -

The Inca Leader Dies
Then finally in 1533, Atahualpa was sentenced to death by burning, but they changed so that he would be strangled to death. They carried out the death sentence and Atahualpa was sent to death. -

The Leaderless Inca
1533, during and after the Inca leader, Atahualpa, died, the Inca was willing to accept Christianity and to be baptized. Francisco Pizarro even then forced them into Christianity and to be baptized and sent treason to them. -

Atahualpa Burial
Now that Atahualpa was dead, the Spanish gave him a Christian style burial in Cajamarca. Although many thought he was later mummified and exhumed by his followers.
