In the fifth grade, I started to have assignments based on books that I chose to read. At that time, I chose to do several of the Magic Tree House books for those assignments because I found them fun to read. -
Jurassic Park
At the beginning of Middle School, my parents influenced me to start reading more books especially any that tied into any of my interests at the time. Up to this day my favorite movie is Jurassic Park, and I found the book to be much more interesting because it included more detail than the movie. -
The Outsiders
I read this book in eighth grade for my English class. We also watched the movie after finishing the book, and I found it interesting in the way they made the book into a movie. -
To Kill A Mockingbird
I read this book in ninth grade because of my English teacher. I found the topic of this book to be very interesting, and I started to look at events in my day to day life differently. -
And Then There Were None
My tenth grade English teacher introduced this book to me, and I found the book to be very captivating. I started to have an interest in Agatha Christie books after this. -
Dracula
I had to do a group assignment based on a book in my eleventh grade English class. I found this book to be very dense and at times difficult to piece together. However, I found that books that are difficult to understand can also be fun to read. -
Inheritance
I read this book for my Genetics course at Nevada State. I enjoyed the book a lot more than I thought I would because it tied into what we were learning at the time. It influenced me to look for more books that are similar to it.
