Phineas and Passepartout reached Suez, Egypt and met Mr Fix, a member of Scotland Yard who mistook Phineas for a bank robber. -

Fogg and Passepartout reached Calcutta, India pn the steamer "Mongolia! and left for Bombay by train. -
En routte to Calcuta.
Phineas Fogg and Passerpartout were stopped by an unfinished railway. To solve the problem of getting from Kohlby to Allahabab, India, where the rail resumed, they took an elephant as a means of transport. -
Passerpartout in disguise.
Phineas Fogg and Passerpartout managed to save a woman called Aouda from ritual sacrifice. -

Travelling by steamer.
They left for Hong Kong by steamer "Rangoon". -
Reaching Hong Kong.
Phineas Fogg, Passepartout and Aouda reached Hong Kong and waited to leave for Yokohama, Japan. -
Off to Shangai.
Fogg and Aouda left Hong Kong for Shangai after missing the steamer to Yohohama. They had lost Passerpartout, who was knocked out by Detective Fix. -
Reunited in Shanghai.
They found each other again when they reached the steamer "Carnatic". Passerpartout reached the steamer before it sailed. -
Leaving Yokohama.
They left Yokohama, Japan for San Francisco, California, USA. -
Half way there.
Aboard the "General Grant" steamer, on the 23rd of November, Fogg had completed exactly half of his journey. The party also crossed the 180th Meridiem, better known as the International Date Line. -
Coming to America
They reached Sant Francisco, California, the USA and left for New York by rail. -
Train arrived in New York City.

Phineas Fogg seemed to lose the wager / the bet by arriving 5 minutes late. He asked Aouda to marry him. Passepartout then informed Fogg that he was actually a full day early by crossing the International Date Line. Mr Fogg won the gamble and restored his pride! He married Aouda.
