Battle of Bunker Hill
The British won the battle.
The British commander was General Thomas Gage. William Prescott led the colonial militia.
The Battle of Bunker hill was actuall faught on Breed's Hill.
After finding out the British were going to try to occupy the hills surrounding Boston, colonial militia built forts on Breed's hill. The British attacked on the following day.
This was one of the most important colonial victories in the U.S War for Inpendence. -
Battle of Long Island
The victor of this battle was the British.
British army led by General William Howe. Americans led by General George Washington.
Washington started to move south after capurting Boston from the British. He predicted that New York City would be the Britsh's next target.
Washington decided to defend the city although British had the advantage of naval forces.
The British wore redcoats and headgear of bearskin caps while the Americans dressed as best as they could. -
Battle of Trenton
The American troops were declared the winners.
America was led by General George Washington. The British were led by Colonel Johann Rall.
Washington was being faced with the crisis of his army's expiring enlistments. His plan was to defeat the British at Trenton before his army was sent back home.
The British wore red coats and leather helmets, Germans wore blue coats, and Americans dressed as best as they could.
There was roughy 2,400 American troops and 1,400 Hessians. -
Battle of Brandywine
The British, helped by the Hessians were the victors.
Major General Sir William Howe was the commander of the British and General George Washington as commander for America.
Howe wanted to capture Philipedphia and Washington tried to stop him.
There was around 6,000 British and Hessians against 8,000 Americans.
The British wore red coats and bearsking helmets or leather crested helmets, Americans dressed as best as they could, some with blue coats, and Germans wore blue coats. -

This battle was won by the Americans.
The British commander was Major General John Burgoyne and the American commanders were Major General Horatio Gates and Brigadier Benedict Arnold.
Faught at Saratoga on the Hudson River in New York state.
The surrender of the British is consindered the turning point for the American Revolution.
Brought the French into the war, on the side of the Americans. -
Battle of Monmouth
There was no victor, this battle was determined as a draw.
Lieutenant Clinton, Major General Conwallis and Major General Knyphausen on the British side. General George Washington and Major General Charles Lee on the American side.
10,000 British troops against 11,000 Americans.
Fought in New Jersey
The fighting ended with both sids claiming victory. -
Capture of Savannah
The British was the victor.
Colonel Archibald Campbelle was the British commander. Robert Howe commanded the Americans.
850 Americans soldiers and 3100 British soldiers.
French and American forces held Savannah under siege from September 23 to October 18, 1779, but failed to reclaim the city.
Only 7 were killed from Great Britian, while 83 were killed from America. -
Battle of Cowpens
The Americans were the victors.
Americans were lead by Colonel Daniel Morgan and the British were commanded by Lieutenant Colonel Banastre Tarleton.
The American and British troops faught with muskets and bayonets.
1000 Americans, 1100 British
Morgan gathered his troops in a pastureland known as Cowpens. He came up with a plan to defeat Tarleton and his British troops. -
Battle of Guilford Court House
The victor of this battle was the British.
Major General Lord Cornwallis was the commander of America. Major General Nathaniel Greene was the commander of the British.
4400 American and 1900 British.
Cornwallis planed to attack Greene's small army.
Tarleton's Legion wore green uniforms and light dragoon helmets. -
Battle of Yorktown
The Americans, accumpined by the French won this battle.
General Washington commanded the Americans, Lieutenant General de Rochambeau commanded the French and Major General Lord Cornwallis commanded the British.
8,800 Americans, 7,800 French and 7,500 British.
British wore red coats, French white coats and Americans dressed as best as they could.
The last major battle in the American Revolution.
