While the future was looking dark for their mother, Ariane and Alexander sat and watched the launch of the first German into space. Ariane, being the oldest, already understood what was going on.

Pioneer Summer Camp

From then on out, the Kerner's became devoted to their country thanks to their mom. In the summer of 1979, the children took part in a communist tradition, a Pioneer camp for youth. Baby Paula

I am assuming that this is when Ariane gave birth to her daughter, Paula. The father of Paula is never seen in the film, as he and Ariane broke up.

Night of Fun

While the GDR's 40th anniversary was taking place, the youthful adult was getting ready to go out for a night of fun! Letting Alexander baby sit Paula. However, sometime during the night, she rushes to find out that her mother is in a comma.

Berlin Wall

As capitlism became embedded into East Germany, private businesses and franchises were popping everywhere, giving young people jobs. Ariane, was able to find work in Burger King with her new boyfriend, Rainer.

A new life is made..

Aug 24, 1990

Sometime during the end of Summer, Ariane announces that she and Rainer are going to have a baby. Rainer additionally announces that they plan on moving out within a month.

Mother Passes Away

The mother passes away in the hospital and they celebrate her death by scattering ashes over Berlin. Ariane, who assimilated to the unification of Germany, enjoys her new life with her two children and partner.
