    First European in Argentina
    Juan Diaz de Solis became the first Euopean to enter Argentna in search of gold. Much of the population of Argentina died from a disease that the Europeans carried in. Only three major places had it then distribuated it and that was Europe, the United States, and Canada. Then the entire disease all got distribated into Latin America. The disease is called the Chagas disease. The disease spread parasites that then circulate in the blood.

    Establishment of Buenos Aires
    Spanish explorer Pedro de Mendoza founded the city he named Nuestra Señora Santa María del Buen Aire now called Buenos Aires, Argentina. He mainly established it because he didn't want Portugal to expanded Brasil anymore then it already was. Almost all of the newly founded Buenos Aires population died due to starvation when everyone fled to the capitol of Spain to find food.

    Jose de San Martin leads the fight for independence from Spain. The war lasted 8 years from 1810 to 1818. San Martain was the Argentina general and prime leader. While he was the prime leader he worked on building up his military in Argentina

    Napolean over threw the king of Spain. The king Napolean over threw was Ferdinand the seventh. Ferdinand VII reputation among historians is very low. People call him cowardly, selfish, grasping, suspicious, and vengeful. On his death a Civil War started. Ferdinand VII was only the king for 1 month and 17 days. He ended up ruling again from 1813 to 1833(his death)

    Juan Peron rises to power. Juan Peron was in power from June 4, 1946 to Semptember 21, 1955. Peron was a Military officer and politician He served in many government positions including Minister of Labor and Vice President of the Republic, he was elected as President of Argentina three times, he was overthrown by a coup d'état.

    New First Lady
    Eva Marie Duarte marries the President Juan Peron. She served as the first lady. When Eva was 15 she moved to Buenos Aires to pursure her career as a stage, radio, and film actress. She met Juan Peron on Janurary 22, 1944 during a charity event for the victims of a terrible eathquake. Eva and Juan got married a year after they met. Then Juan got elected President in 1946 so she became the First Lady.

    Eva Peron died in Buenos Aires on July 26, 1952. She had cancer then got rid of it but it came back rapidly. Everything was shut down due to her death. Everyone was in mourn. Flags were shown half-staff for ten full days. Everyone shoulder to shoulder tight around the Presidental Office for 10 whole blocks. For 2 weeks people were lined up to visit her body. People laid down piles of flowers on the streets for her. She recieved a State funeral. She died at age 33.

    Juan gets reelected for President of Argentina
    Perón's administration charted a bold new economic path for the country. Preaching industrialization and government intervention, Perón promoted a "Third Way" that was wasn't capitalism or communist. He also severely restricted existing constitutional liberties and rewrote the law to allow his reelection in 1951. He also promised to not fleed the country like last time.

    Juan Peron died at age 79 just from natural causes. Peron married his thrid wife who happened to be the Vice President. HIs thrid wifes name was Isabel Martinez. After Juan Peron died his thrid wife, the Vice President, then became the President of Argentina. She served as President from July 1, 1974 to March 24, 1976

    Falklands War started with the United Kingdom. It was a ten-week war between Argentina and the United Kingdom over two British overseas territories in the South Atlantic. The two territories were the Falkland Islands and the South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands. The islands became Argentina territory. The british had less effect then Argentina. The war is still a ready topic to discus.
