Papers signed by the Egyptian and Israeli leaders. Secret negotiations at Camp David. Anwar Sadat and Menachem Begin signed these to later start the Egypt-Israel Peace Treaty. The framework agreements were signed at the White House in the presence of President Jimmy Carter. -

"Operation Peace for Galilee". Israel Defense Forces invaded southern Lebanon. Israel launched the attack after the assassination attempt of Israel's ambassador. Many attacks to follow due to disagreements. -

A Palestinian uprising against the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian Territories. Fight between Israelis and Palestinians based on "accidental" strikes against one another from an Army truck hitting civilians to boycotts to work. -
Rifaat el-Mahgoub Assassination
A Jihad attempted to assassinate Abdel Halim Moussa, but ended up killing Rifaat el-Mahgoub instead. Both of these men were government officials. -
Daylight Ambushes
1106 people were killed or wounded. More police than terrorists died that year. Many people were shot dead in daylight ambushes. -
Oslo Accords
A set of agreements between the government of Israel and the Palestine Liberation Organization. A peace process that aimed the conclusion of a peace-treaty and to fulfil the right of the Palestinian people. Created the Palestinian Authority. -
Luxor Massacre
Took place at Deir el-Bahri, an archaeological site. Islamic terrorists attacked said site. These terrorists are suspected to having ties to al-Qaeda. 62 toursists killed. Beheadings and disembowellings were among the killings. -
Sinai Bombings
3 bomb attacks targeting tourist hotels in Egypt. 34 killed. A truck rigged with explosives drove into a hotel and exploded. Also happened at camp sites and at a restaurant. -
Cairo Attacks
Took pace in Cairo on April 7th and 30th in 2005. 3 bystanders were killed in the first attack. "In retaliation for the government's clampdown on dissidents in the wake of the Sinai Peninsula bombings." All attackers were relatives of Ashraf Said, a suspect who was taken into questioning and died in police custody. -
Sharm el-Sheikh Attacks
Bomb attacks targeting the Egyptian resort city. 88 killed by the blasts, making it the deadliest terrorist attack in the country's history. -
Dahab Bombings
3 bomb attacks on the resort city. 80 people wounded. -
Sudan Kidnapping
A group of 11 European tourists and 8 Egyptians were kidnapped during an adventure safari deep in the Sahara desert and taken to Sudan. Later released unharmed. -
J. Christopher Stevens
An American diplomat and lawyer who served as the U.S. Ambassador to Libya. Murdered when the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya was attacked by Libyans.
