The Boston Massacre
A group of British soldures fired into a mob of colonists for throwing showballs and chunks of ice. Five colonists later died from the wounds. This event brought the colonists more together to fight for their freedom.

The First Continental Congress meets
They met in Philadelphia in Carpenters Hall where they discussed the colonist life, liberty, and prosperity. They voted to adopt the Declaration of Independence. Britain saw this as a threat and the Americas saw it as hope. -
The Battle of Saratoga - A Turning Point
General Horatio Gates defeated General John Burgoyne's army at Freeman's Farm. This gave a boost to the americans spirits and the French were impressed and wanted to help.

Treaty of Alliance
France enters the Revolutionary War to help only the United States. The treaty states the two countries would be allies against Great Britain. America now has extra man power. -
Battle of Charleston
The Americans suffered there worst defeat against the British. The British captured more then 3,000 Patriots, a large amount of munitions and equipment and lost 250 dead and wounded.

British General Cornwallis Surrenders
After three weeks of fighting, Cornwallis surrendered to Washington in the field at Yorktown. This ended the war of independence.
