    Nicknamed the "Corps of Discovery Expedition" the Lewis and Clark exploration of the Louisiana Purchase is by far the most popular and well known. They began they're exploration in St. Louis and traveled all the way to the Pacific Ocean. There was only one death during the entire exploration, Sergeant Charles Floyd, who died from a ruptured appendix.

    The Dunbar and Hunter Expedition
    The Dunbar and Hunter Expedition lasted for 1804-1805. Together, William Dunbar and Dr. George hunter set out to explore the Ouachita River and Hot Springs. They took a small boat and rode the Mississippi River to the Ouachita River and continued onto hot springs until later returning home.

    Freeman and Custis Exploration
    The exploration was nickname “The Great Excursion” by President Thomas Jefferson. Thomas Freeman and Peter Custis took two boats, on April 19, 1806, down the Mississippi River and entered onto the Red River on May 19 were they explored most of the river.

    Thomas Nuttall was a naturist and a zoologist. He was part of the Astor Expedition and did very important work in identifying Arkansan plants and animals.

    The Missouri Comprimise said that even though Missouri was technically in the Northern United States they could still have slaves. The Compromise was composed by Henry Clay.
