Americans dressed as Indians dump gallons of Tea into Boston Harbor. This was a major protest to British taxes on American goods. -

The Revolutionary War begins with Lexington and Concord. This would be the start of a long and hard 6 years of war. -

This is America's first public cry that they are independent from Britain. This is now a celebrated date in United States history. -

The Trail of Tears is the forced migration of Indians to Oklahoma from their reservations. The Indians would get nothing in return but would have to go to new lands. -

The Gold Rush of California begins, which brings multiple people out to the West, rapidly advancing California into a state. -
The Civil War Begins
The Civil War begins with the firing on Fort Sumter. This starts a 4 year war which the North eventually wins. -
The Civil War Ends
The Civil War ends with Robert Lee's surrender at Appromatex. This frees all slaves and joins the Union as one again.
