Columbus found the Americas and started people coming to America and populating it. -

Columbian Exchange Starts
This started the exchange of many different items and brought many people to the new world from Europe and Africa. This also decimated the populations of the natives who did not have resistance to the small pox virus. -

First settlement in America by whites. Started the colonization of America. -
Pilgrims Land in America
Helped to colonize America and showed people that America has freedom. -

Proclamation of 1763
Prevented the White population from crossing the Appalachian mountains. -
Alien and Sedition act
Allowed the government to expel people from the country and made it take longer for immigrants to becme citizens. -

Lousiana Purchase
This more than doubled the amount of land in the US and allowed for the economy to grow because there was more resources. -
Lewis and Clark set out
Lewis and Clark set out to explore the Louisiana Purchase which allowed many settlers to move westward in hope of a better life. -
US gains Florida
More land became availble to be settled. Many indian tribes were driven out of Florida and driven west. -
Missouri Compromise
This allowed more terf the US territory to become states and it had slave owners move South of Missouri. -
Cheap Land Out West
This allowed many to move out west and to start a new life farming. -
Erie Canal Opened
This allowed people to move west ward easier and boosted the economy giving people a reason to move westward. -
B & O RR Founded
This allowed for easy transportation of goods and people which allowed easier settlement of land in the east. -
Indian Removal
The US government removed the Indians off their lands and moved them west. -
Trail of tears
Thousands of indians were forcibly moved west by the Government. -
Texas gained by US
Gained land and allowed more areas to settle in America. -
Gold Rush begun
Started a mad rush out west in search of fame and fortune. -
