George washington and the American forces cross the Delaware river to force the surrender of 1000 hessian soldiers. -

The articles of confederation kept the colonies together in the early stages of America, but became regared as a a failure as the constitution replaced the Articles in the end. -

The French agreed to help the American in exchange for control of the West Indies. France spends over 13 billion dollars in todays money in the war. -

The battle of yorktown ended the was the death blow to the Britsh as American forces bombarded British forces with canon fire for 6 days until the British finally surrendered. -
