This makes the picture look a lot more realistic and it helps in certain photos where there is a larger light to dark ratio. instead of a traditional photo take once. HDR snaps three photos at different exposure levels and combines them for the best possible dynamic ranged outcome. This makes blacks extremely black and whites brighter. A bigger contrast ratio!
