Apollo 1
Apollo 1 was the frst mission of the Apollo project. The team was practicing the normal pre-launch activity, when there was a spark that caused a ginormous fire, engulfing the whole launch pad. -
Apollo 7
The Apollo 7 was the first manned earth orbt flight of the CSM. It was a ten day mission with three astronauts on board. After they exited orbit and re-entered the atmosphere, they landed safely in the Atlantic Ocean. -
Apollo 8
Apollo 8 was launched on December 21st, 1968 and it was the first manned mission to achieve lunar orbit. It was a 6 day mission. The people on board were Frank Borman, James Lovell Jr., and William Anders. -
Apollo 10
Apollo 10 was a rehearsal for a lunar landing mission. On board the Charlie Brown, and the Snoopy, were Thomas P. Stafford, John W. Young, and Eugene Andrew Cernan. -
Apollo 11
Apollo 11 was the first mission to make it to the moon and it launched on July 16 1969. On board there was Neil Armstrong, Edwin Aldrin Jr., and Michael Collins flew the spacecraft called Columbia and Eagle. Apollo 11 safely landed in the Pacific Ocean. They collected 21 kg of lunar rocks and soil. -
Apollo 12
Apollo 12 was the second lunar landing mission and the first mission to make a pinpoint landing on the moon. -
Apollo 13
Apollo 13 was supposed to land on site of Fra Mauro, which is on the moon. Instead of landing, it circled around the moon, but then burnt up into the atmosphere. -
Apollo 14
Apollo 14 was the third mission to land on the moon, and was launched on January 31, 1971. The crew of Alan B. Shepard, Jr., Stuart A. Roosa, and Edgar D. Mitchell piloted the spacecraft Kitty Hawk and the Antares to a landing in a hilly region just north of the Fra Mauro Center. Using the Mobile Equipment Transporter, a two-wheeled cart, Shepard and Mitchell traversed 3.3 km (2.1 mi) on foot and reached a distance of approximately 1400 m (4600 ft) from the LM. -
Apollo 15
Apollo 15 was the first of the three missions capable of a longer stay time on the moon and greater surface mobility. -
Apollo 17
Apollo 17 was the final mission of the Apollo program. Launched on December 7, 1972, the crew of Eugene Andrew Cernan, Ronald Elwin Evans, and Harrison Hagan Schmitt flew the spacecraft America CSM and Challenger. The Apollo 17 landed on the moon, and spent three days there. They landed successfully in the Pacific Ocean.
