Delhi Sultanate
Delhi Sultanate was a series of five shortly lived Muslim kingdoms that originated in Turkic and Pashun. The sultanate was mostly in Delhi but it spread across large parts of the Indian Subcontinent. At one point it covered majority of the Indian Subcontinent. The Delhi Sultanate was important because it started the Muslim rule in India. The Delhi Sultanate also brought along major cultural diversity that was a great profit to the way we live our lives in todays time, it's invaluable. -

Mali Empire
The Mali Empire is in West Africa that was founded by Sundiata Keita. The Mali Empire was known for the wealth of its rulers. One of the wealthiest rulers was Musa Keita. The capital of the empire was Timbuktu which also was the center for Islamic learning, but was Niani before the empire fell. The money that makes this Empire so wealthy comes from gold and salt mines inside the empire. The Mali Empire was in control of the trade routes through the Sahara Desert to the Middle East and Europe. -

Abbasid Caliphate
Abbasid Caliphate was a ruler who ruled majority of the Middle East, western Asia, and Africa which included Egypt. The the beginning of the Abbasid time everything was very relaxed which led to the big advances in math, science, and medicine. This was a time period known as the Golden Age for Islam. The Golden Age was so great because it was a time where the Sunni and the Shia were in cooperation. The Mongols burned the library and the capital to start the downfall of the empire. -

Tang and Song Dynasties
The Song Dynasty (960-1279) follows shortly behind the Tang dynasty (618-9060). Many people have known to call these two periods of time China's golden age. Many of today's convences started in the Song Dynasty like paper money, gunpowder, compasses, and printing. The religion was Buddhism. The Tang Dynasty had amazing craftsmanship with beautiful poetry and porcelain, this is believed a result of the great peace in the land. The Dynasties were eventually conquered by the Mongol barbarians. -

European Renaissance
The European Renaissance was a time of extreme culture, artistic, political, and economic ideas and their shifts and changes. Lots of people look at this time period as the rebirth of Europe's culture. Philosophy, literature, and art were all retought and reclassified. Some of the major causes of the European Renaissance was the Bubonic Plague, the economy, and the Ottoman Conquest. Since the Bubonic Plague killed of around 1/3 percent of the European population ideas were shifted faster. -

Ottoman Empire
The Ottoman Empire was ruled most of Southwestern Europe, Western Asia, and North Africa. The Ottoman Empire was known for their advances in art, medicine, and science. The Ottoman Empire fell from the lack of funds to continue through the inflation caused by the small numbers of precious metals which caused an unbalance of trade from the West to East. -

Mesoamerican Empires (Aztec and Inca)
The Aztec and Inca civilizations were started in Central and South America. They were very similar in the ways they were ran and they ways they worked as a civilization. People farmed for crops. And the cultures were a big part of the way they were worked as a civilization. The mesoamerican people had social structures and religion and used an army as a defense against people they were uncertain of. In 1519 the Aztec's were conquered by Hernan Cortés who was a Spanish conquistador from Mexico. -

Bubonic Plague
The Bubonic Plague is one of three kinds of plagues that are started by the bacterium Yersinia pestis. One day to a week is the zone where symptoms of the plague start occuring. The symptoms are similar the the symptoms of the flu. Fevers, headaches, and vomiting are the main factors. Depending on where the bacterium enters your body is where the skin will swell and become extremely painful. The bubonic plague is transmitted by fleas which is extremely rare. -

Yuan Dynasty
The Yuan Dynasty was the first ever led dynasty by a foreign leader in China. The dynasty was started by Kublai Khan who was once also a leader of the Mongol Empire but the Yuan Dynasty started after a rebellion with the Mongol dynasty which lead to the beginning of a new dynasty. This dynasty was not around very long after Kublai Khan's death which was the start of the decline. The Zhu army is what finished off the Yuan dynasty soon after the death of the leader Kublai Khan. -

Mongol Empire
The Mongol Empire was founded by Genghis Khan. This empire covered majority of Asia and Europe. The Mongol Empire was the largest land empire in history and was the second largest empire in history only falling shortly behind the British Empire. The Mongols were strong warriors. The Mongol Empire was an elective monarchy. The Mongols were defeated by an army commanded by Ulugh Khan. The Mongol Empire perfected the act of raiding lands which is what makes them the biggest land empire in history. -

The Ming Dynasty was shortly built after the Yuan dynasty fell. The Ming Dynasty was the last dynasty to be ruled by the Han Chinese. During the Ming Dynasty China's population doubled. The Ming Dynasty was known for there art and porcelain. The Ming Dynasty fell from and economic disaster from the lack of silver, bad weather, uprisings, and attacks on the Ming Dynasty. -

The Age of Exploration was a time were ships filled the waters trying to find new and faster ways to deliver and trade goods. The Age of Exploration jump started globalization. -

The Spanish Colonial Empire was grown to be known as the empire where the sun never sets for the fact that thy worked til they hit their maximum extension into the Americas. -

The Portuguese Trading Post Empire was the first to build the portuguese mariners. The Portuguese Trading Post Empire was made to control the trade routes by making all merchant vessels to pay for travel to trading sites. -

Feudalism in Europe
Feudalism was a set of customs that really thrived during the Medieval times period in Europe. Feudalism structured society and the relationships of the people of the lands. Feudalism could be used for services given for food or money and even somewhere to live. Small communities were built around a local lord and manor. The lord would own everything and he took care of the people around him and kept them save in return for the labour. The Crusades were the major causes of the fall of feudalism. -

The Reformation was started from the abuse in the Catholic Church. which caused a divided between the clergy and the peasants. The beliefs and structure of the Catholic Church was changed dramatically and the religious, political, and intellectual upheaval caused a major change in the Catholic Church. -

Atlantic Slave Trade
The Atlantic Slave Trade was when people were storing slaves in their boats to bring them across the world into the Americas. This pathway was called the Middle Passage. This all started when the Portuguese first began to kidnap the African Americans and shipping them to Europe to become slaves. The Europeans then started shipping them to the Americas to help the settlement into the new continent. -

The Mughal Empire controlled most of South Asia. The Mughal Empire helped the spread of Muslim arts and culture and even the religion. The Mughal Empire had a large Muslim and Hindu majority control. The Mughal Empire was crushed after a rebellion. -
Tokugawa Shogunate
Tokugawa Shogunate was a military based government in Japan. Emperor Meiji over threw Tokugawa Shogunate. Which ended up changing all of Japan into a world power. Tokugawa Shogunate banned christianity which ended the idea of opened religion in Japan. -
Qing Dynasty
The Qing Dynasty was in a time that was known for it's prosperity. The Qing Dynasty was only the second dynasty that wasn't ruled by the the Han people. The Qing Dynasty was eventually succeed by the Republic of China. -
The Enlightenment
The Enlightenment was a time where philosophy was changing dramatically changed during this time. The Enlightenment was an intellectual movement that was fueled by the printing press. -
Industrial Revolution
The Industrial Revolution was when the people and manufacturing companies were starting to transition into the more equipment based products and less handmade products. This revolution started in Europe and the United States. -
American Revolution
The American Revolution started by the red coats started firing at the colonists in Lexington and Concord in Massachusetts. This is the revolution where the all so famous shot heard round the world was fired which was the start of this revolution. -
French Revolution
The French Revolution was a time that had a war between France and it's colonies. The people of France were overthrowing the government and taking control of the monarchy. It all started revolutionaries stormed a prison named Bastille. -
Haitian Revolutions
The Haitian Revolution was the largest and probably most successful rebellion ran by the slaves in the Western Hemisphere. The slaves started the rebellion and not only ended their slavery but also killed off the French control over the colony. The warfare of the Haitian Revolution destroyed the economy of the capital almost completely. -
Tanzimat Reforms
The Tanzimat Reforms were done in the Ottoman Empire. The Tanzimat Reforms was a major change in the way the Ottoman Empire was giving children and young adults their education and the way politics and the economy were being run. The Tanzimat Reforms were an attempt to modernize the Ottoman Empire in hopes to keep it or even slow down the decline. -
Opium Wars
The Opium Wars were two wars which were between Great Qing and Britain Government because Britain and the Qing were in trade with Opium and Britain got China addicted so that the trade would continue. -
Taiping Rebellion
The Taiping Rebellion was a revolt against the Qing dynasty in China over religious problems and the terrible economy. -
Sepoy Mutiny
The Sepoy Mutiny was and uprising against the British rule in India. It was very violent and lots of lives were lost. The uprising was also a major fail because the indians refused. -
Meiji Revolution
The Meiji Revolution was the time when the great general Tokugawa lost his power and the people were switched to having a emperor as the new supreme position. This brought along a powerful army and an amazing navy. -
Scramble for Africa
The main reasons for Scramble for Africa are obviously economy. Africa had many golds and materials that the everyone wanted and then there is also the political and religious reasons like wanting to spread religion or even just have more land for more power in numbers. The Scramble for Africa caused a depression for Europe because they invested more money than they were going to get out of Africa. Germany, France, and Great Britain were also losing money over the Scramble for Africa. -
Berlin Conference
The Berlin Conference changed the way that Africa was being divided by the world powers and was also the cause of the New Imperialism era in Europe and brought Germany up into the world powers league.
