    Pope Leo III crowned Charlemagne emperor and was able to spread and achieve his goals through his excellent military strategies. He would go on to unify a large part of Europe, mainly western and central Europe.

This would also lead to a fifty year civil war in Germany and would mark the fall of the once powerful German Empire.

    The Crusades

    The conflict of the Crusades was ignited when Pope Urban II ordered the Christians to fight against the Muslims for control of the Holy Land, which the muslims believed was theirs as well. The Crusades lasted almost 200 years until the muslims finally came out as the winners. The Crusades would end up having two major impacts on the world: first it would bring Europe out of feudalism for good, secondly it would also start trade between Europe and the Middle East.

    This university brought in many different students from foreign countries to study the foundings of many philosophers and their relations to the study of the Bible, such as Aristotle. The founding of the University of Paris was one of the causes for the push towards humanism and shifts beliefs away from believing in divine powers.

    The Renaissance

    During the Renaissance people began to believe towards what they could physically understand rather than faith. The people wanted to have an explanation on how things related to each other and using more logic to figure out problems instead of the Bible. Leonardo da Vinci was one of the pioneers of the idea of perfect understanding for the things he painted. Many people agreed with these ideas and began to question religion.

    The Hundred Years War began as the English and the French fought over the inheritance of the French throne due to territorial disputes. This war would make a clear divide between England and France, something that had never been done before. The war would also spark the rivalry between the two superpowers in the world,

    Johannes Gutenberg invented the printing press which allowed information to be spread on a large scale. This would be proven effective with Martin Luther King and preachings within the 95 Theses. The printing press would be the spark of the reformation.
