    Antonio López de Santa Anna was born February 21, 1794. His full name is Antonio de Padua María Severino López de Santa Anna y Pérez de Lebrón. His siblings are Joaquín López de Santa Anna Pérez de Lebrón, Manuel López de Santa Anna Pérez de Lebrón, Lucinda López de Santa Anna, Mariana López de Santa Anna Pérez de Lebrón, María de la Merced López de Santa Anna Pérez de Lebrón, Guadalupe López de Santa Anna Pérez de Lebrón.

    In 1823 he was sent to the military exile. In 1833 he was the elected president. Also in that time he wasn’t into government and it annoyed him.

    On 1836 at the Battle of Almo his forces killed 189 Texian Defenders.
    He then later executed more than 342 Texians. They then executed them.

    In 1838 Antonio López de Santa Anna lost his leg during the war. He got hit by a cannon fire in the middle of the war. It is now in a museum in illinois State Military Museum.

    After that happened he was made president for the fifth time. In 1845 Antonio López de Santa Anna was imprisoned. They spared his life but he was still exiled to Cuba

    Again Antonio López de Santa Anna was elected president again. After getting out of jail on March 17 1853. In 1869 Santa Anna was trying to save up money to reform an army.

    The Plan of Ayutla removed Santa Anna and exiled him again. In 1874 Santa Anna returned back to Mexico. He was crippled and almost blind and ignored the Mexican government.

    Santa Anna died at Mexico City on June 21 at 82 years old. He was buried with military honors in a glass coffin. He was buried at the Panteón del Tepeyac Cemetery.
