Summary of Timeline
The Opposition of the Vietnam War was so intense because the Citizens of the U.S didn't want to involve themselves in other nations conflicts. This war made a lot U.S citizens mad and it made President Johnson fall into embarrassment for failing to win the war against North Vietnam and didn't want to go into reelection in 1969.
The Civil Rights in correlation of the Vietnam was a domestic problem since we had a lot of problems involving discrimination of African-American. -
Bloody Sunday
600 civil rights activists that include, Hosea Williams of the SCLC, John Lewis of the SNCC marched from Selma, AL to Montgomery, AL for the protest of the killing of Jimmy Lee Jackson, an unarmed demonstrator killed during a march by an AL State Trooper. the activists got beaten by clubs, sprayed by water hoses, and tear gas. -
