WWll Christmas 1943 and pim
Christmas is her and Anne think's all the time about pim, and what he told here about the love of his youth. She now understand the meaning of his words better then when he told them to her. -

German battleship Scharnhorst is sunk off North Cape (in the Arctic) by an array of British cruisers and destroyer torpedoes.
Also American Marines land on Cape Gloucester, New Britain. -
General Eisenhower
General Eisenhower is officially named head of Overlord, the invasion of Normandy. -
Christmas gift
For the first time of her life Anne got a present for Christmas. They celebrate Christmas together. -
success against the Japanese
In Burma, Chinese troops have some success against the Japanese. -
Granny & Lies
Christmas is passed and Anne is unhappy again. She thinks of what happened to Granny and Lies and she is very worried for them. Also in the mean time the 29th Control of the Andaman Islands is handed over to Azad Hind by the Japanese. -
passed hate
Anne Frank realised when she looked back in her diary what she wrote about her mom in the passed year. She realised that she wrote a lot about her mom but mostly never in a good way. She explains that her mom did not understand her but neither did she understand her mom. She said that her mummy loved her very much and she was tender, but she was nervous and irritable because of other worries and difficulties, and that it is certainly understandable that she snapped at her. -

The 1st Ukrainian Front of the Red Army enters Poland. -
Anne Frank
Her mother see's her daughters more like friends but Anne frank does not think it should be like that. She imagine a mother as a woman who, in the first place shows great tact, especially towards her children when they reach her age, and who does not lough at her if she cry about something.
She also talks about her changing body.
