On Saturday the first of January 1944 another new year has begun and we find ourselves still in our hiding place We have been here now for one year give months and twenty five days it see,s that out life is a stand still. She is saying how long its been and her life is still a stand still. -

By this time we all know each other so well that if anyone start or tells a story we can finish it this means that they know each other real well. -
Act two scene three
Were all in much better spirits these days. That means they are feeling better cause the invasion has started so they have a chance of getting rescued. -
Act two scene 4
In spite of everything, I still believe that people are really good at heart. So that means that she still believes people are really good or nice at heart. -
Act one scene 1
She talks about in her diary that there is the street below and they have to wait to talk or make noise because of the workers below.
