The creator Osamu Tezuka went into the history books as "The Father of Manga and Anime". It was also the first anime series that ran 25-minutes long, which is the average length an episode of an anime is today.

The Manga series turned out to be very popular story that caught the attention of both children and adults alike. It helped popularize the idea that anime is not just for children. Because of it's immense popularity it got the chance to become a TV series. The TV series release date was on March 7th, 1992. It has 200 episodes each with a run time of 25 minutes.

    Pokémon was created by Satoshi Tajiri and went from a Japanese video game to an anime, manga, card game, and so much more. In Japan they have entire stores based off of the Pokemon center from the anime and game. It was a huge tourist attraction for Japan and is still highly popular to date. It became one of, if not the most popular anime series in America.

    In 2008, Japan created the position of Anime Ambassador, which was given to Doraemon, to promote anime series worldwide. Doraemon was given this due to it's immense popularity in the west and with other Asian countries like South Korea. This was the start of a massive shift where anime became a mainstream thing here in the west as well.

    Today, anime is a common thing in Japan and elsewhere. It is a popular form of media and even massive corporations like Netflix are taking part in the production of it these days. There are tons of anime being released every season and series like Dragon Ball and Pokemon are still being released today despite their age. Anime I think really shows the influence of external places compared to what it had been before. It's a beautiful culmination of Japanese culture and a great way to spread it too
