  • The Phenakistiscope

    The first real animation. It was a round disc that would spin around, making a moving image for people to watch.
  • Stop-Motion Animation

    This is a technique where the animators uses any object, takes a picture, and moves it a tiny bit, to make it look like it's moving. Some examples are The Nightmare Before Christmas, Wallace and Grommet, and early South Park
  • The Enchanted Drawing

    An animation taking advantage f camera cuts. It depicts a dawn face with a hat wine, and cigar A man takes them all out of the drawing, ad outs them back in.
  • Silent Age of Animation

    The time period before people could import sound into film and animation. Having no sound, the animatos made up for it by exaggerating their animations.

  • Cel Animation

    Cel sheets are transparent papers or 'sheets' used to animate. One would draw an outline on it, take it off, and then color the real drawing for the animation. Some examples are The Little Mermaid, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, and The Black Cauldron
  • Cut-Out Animation

    First created by Alfonso de Laferrere
    A form of Stop-Motion animation, where one would cut out paper and take pictures of it to make an animation
  • Walt's Business

    Disney started his company in 1923, in hopes of creating animation for the world to love
  • Warner Bros. Starts

    In 1923, Warner Bros. create their company, and start their animation career
  • Disney Vs. Warner Bros.

    Warner Bros. is a lot more light hearted and over the top, while Disney is more unnerving and a bit grim. The backgrounds are also very different. Warner's backgrounds were used by the characters a lot, and the audience expected that. Disney, on the other hand, had still, lively backgrounds

    An age when animation blew up in America, and many different characters and films were made in its time. some characters include Micky Mouse, Bugs Bunny, Tom and Jerry, and the first adaptation of Superman. Some films were Bambi, Pinocchio, and Dumbo

  • Looney Tunes' Debut

    Warner Bros. make their famous show, "Looney Tunes" in 1930
  • Walt Disney's First Film

    Walt's first film was Snow White and The Seven Dwarves, created in 1937
  • The Dark Age of Animation

    A time when animation started to be marketed towards children. Many producers would try to get their shows out as fast as possible, therefore making the quality of the animation worsen. Some shows created in this period were Yogi Bear and The Flintstones
  • Warner Bros. Start Again

    After years of being gone for losing money from their animation business, Warner Bros. came back to keep on their legacy
