    Jackson's dad had left his famly; him, his mother, and his brother. Jackson and his brother enlisted in the army after being captured by the british. Later his brother died so Jackson was accepted into the army alone. he fought untill 1788.

    After Britan sighned the Treaty to end the war of 1812, the war began. Andrew Jackson was not yet president, bur he was the genral of the army that fought. This is where his nick name "Old Hickory" came from, his toughness and his need to help defend new orleans. Jackson hen passed a law saying any man with a gun was to join the army to help fight the british, which incresed his army to 4500 men. Thanks to jacksons law they had won the battle.
