Jackson's Birth
Andrew Jackson was born on March 15, 1767, to Andrew and Elizabeth Hutchinson Jackson, colonists who emigrated from Ireland in 1765. Jackson spent much of his early life in the frontier regions of South Carolina and Tennessee. He did not receive much formal education, but learned much about the practical frontier life that he grew up on. -
