Indians were forced to leave their homes and walk in the winter to a relocation site. This created the Trail of Tears and was to help America develop faster. The Trail of Tears left many Indians dead and many didn't make it to the relocation site.

    When the Tariff of 1828 raised taxes of foreign goods, the Southerns were horrifed. They hated the tax and South Carolina threatened to seded if the tariff wasn't lifted. The Northeners loved the tariff and liked the buisness that it was giving them. Eventually, Jackson hired Henry Clay to devise a compromise that lowered the tariff, satisfying both sides.
