Bank Owner Nicholas Biddle thought that the bank was a huge help to the economy of the United States. Andrew Jackson stopped the bank on behalf of the South while Biddle and the rest of the North were upset. -
Nullification Crisis
When the Tariff of 1828 raised taxes of foreign goods, the Southerns were horrifed. They hated the tax and South Carolina threatened to seded if the tariff wasn't lifted. The Northeners loved the tariff and liked the buisness that it was giving them. Eventually, Jackson hired Henry Clay to devise a compromise that lowered the tariff, satisfying both sides. -
Death of Andrew Jackson
Andrew Jackson died on June 8th, 1845 at the age of 78. HE died in his home near Nashville, Tennesesee. He was buried next to his wife.
