There were four canidates, John Quincy Adams, Henry clay, Andrew Jackson and William Crawford. Although Jackson was the person who most people wanted, John Quincy Adams won the election because him and Henry Clay were working together. -

American thought that John Quincy Adams' win was a bargin and not many people wanted his as a president again, there fore Jackson won by a land slide. -
