Andrew Jackson did not like the National Bank of America because he thought it had too much power and vowed to " Kill it." And he did that exactly by denying renewal when the Bank was up for it. -
Assationation Attempt
Richard Lawrence, an unemployed housepainter pointed a gun at Jackson after he was leving a funeral in South Crolina. He fired the pistol but it misfired so he pulled out a second pistol which also misfired. He blamed Jackson for the loss of his job and needed money so he tried to kill him. He said
"I shall not rise until the president falls" and that money would be plenteful. -
Death
Andrew Jackson died of tuberculosis, heart failure and dropsy in Nashville Tennesse on June 8 1845.
