    Andrew Jackson was born in the Waxhaws region between North and South Carolina.
  • Jackson Enlists In Revoutionary Army

    Jackson Enlists In Revoutionary Army
    At age 13, Jackson and his brother, Hugh, enlist in the Revolutionary Army. After fighting the British, him and his brother were captured and his brother died of heat exaustion. He also recieved smallpox, but he was able to heal and escape the British. His mother also soon died from smallpox as she was helping him heal, so he was left an orphan, for his father died before he was born.

    The Battle of Horseshoe Bend was a battle at Horseshoe Creek between Jackson, his men, some Native American helpers against a Native American tribe, known as the Creek. Jackson wanted more land, but was going to take it away from the Creek's, so they entered another battle. This battle led to even more conflicts betwen the Americans and the Native americans in the future.

    After the war of 1812 ended, the news of the treaty of ghent was slow to get to Britian and America, so they went into a bloody battle in New Orleans. Andrew Jackson led the American Troops, and had victory, but the battle caused many lives and tragidies.

    The election of 1824 was when 2 Democrats, Andrew Jackson and William Crawford, and 1 Republican/Whigs, Jhon Quincy Adams were running against eachother for Presidency. Adams won because first, he was the only Republican, so he got all the republican votes, while the Democratic votes were split. Second, Adams told his friend and fellow Republican that since he could no longer run for president since he wasn't chosen, if he heped Adam's win, he would put Clay high up in the governmet, so he did.

    After Jhon Adams won his presidency in 1814, him and Andrew Jackson went against eachother, head to head this time. This was the first landslide vote. Jakson won by a lot because everyone new adams cheated himself into presidency last election, and Jackson also wated freedom for the common man.

    The Indian Removal Act was an act allowing Jackson to take unsettled land from the Native Americans west of the Mississippi River. This angered some Natives, causing them to rebel, but many of them ended up dying or surrendering.

    Worcester V. Ga was a trial for the U.S trying to gain the Georgia Territory from the Chereokee Indians. The U.S won, and the Chereoke's were forced to leave and leave behing their ways of life. This event led to the Indian Removal Act, creating extreme tention between the Americans and the Native Americans.

    The Nullification Crisis is was when Jackson decided to pass a tax on manufactured goods, rousing the South because they felt their rights were being taken away since they manufactured several goods. The government and the south constantly hit heads about this topic until Henery Clay decided to come p with a compramise that stated that it would lessen the taxes by 10%.

    The Bank War was when Andrew Jackson decided that he would end the National Bank and instead create state banks. This created conflicts in congress because some were worried it would give too much power to the states. In the end, however, Jackson ended up winning, causing the state banks to stay.
