Election of 1824
There were 4 canidates: Andrew Jackson, John Quincy Adams, Henry Clay, and William Crawford. Although Andrew Jackson won the popular vote, no one won the electoral vote. The House of Representatives had to chose who would be president. Since Henry Clay had dropped out, he convinced the House to vote for Adams and they did. Jackson calls this ellection a "corrupt bargain". -

Jackson won this election by a lot after losing the Election of 1824 by a "corrupt bargain." -
Indian Removal Act
The Indian Removal Act had the power to push Native Americans west of the Mississippi River. Their journey is known as the Trail of Tears because many Native Americans died along the way. -
Bank War
Alexander Hamilton created the first National Bank to regulate economic policies. Andrew Jackson disliked the bank because he thought it was too powerful. So he vetoed the Bank when Congress voted to reauthorize it. -
Wochester vs Georgia
Georgia began moving Native Americans west because they were making their own government and becoming a soverign nation. Samuel A. Worchester didn't like this and called on trial. John Marshall defined Georgia's law unconstitutional and kept The Native Americans in Georgia. -
Nulification Crisis
Southern planters didn't like the Tarrif of 1828 because they had to pay more for European imports. South Carolina believed in the idea of "state rights." They passed the Nullification Act which made the Tarrif illegal. Andrew Jackson then passes the Force Bill which supresses any South Carolina intentions of nullifying the Tarrif of 1828.
