Date of Birth
I was born at Haddo, Westmoreland, Jamaica, to proud parents Eulalee and Seymour Leslie. I was their seventh child, and first girl. I have a total of seven brothers and one sister. I adore my brothers becaue they were always around to protect me. -
Birth of Brother
My last brother was born on February 15, 1973. He became one of my favourite brothers, because we were always doing things together. I became a big sister and he became my play pal. We are still very close and call each other two or three times a day, when I am not at work. He was my source of strength when I first emigrated to Canada. We would talk on the phone for hours. -
Primary Education
In September of 1975, I started my formal education . I attended the Haddo Primary School and spent eight years there. I was given a lot support while there and has definitely played a huge role in my present life. -
Spelling Bee Parish chamionship
[Spelling Bee](hhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xarqIQ9S64Uttp://)One of my favourite things to do in school was spelling. In 1981, I was previleged to enter the parish championship. I have studied hard and was entering with a classmate of mine. Out of a total of approximately 27 candidates, I was placed sixth. I will always remember the word that I mispelt. It was cafeteria (incorrectly spelt, cafiteria) Memories come bacl to haunt me. I could have been the spelling champion. Haha. -
Transition from Primary to Junior/High School
I received my results for my government examination and I was given a placement at the Montego Bay High School (All Girls School). Extremely excited about going to the same school with my cousin and a friend. -
Orientation for junior/high school
Overly excited about going to school. My father took me to my school orientation, which I was very excited about, considering the fact that my mother would always take me to these important events.
After the orientation, I spent time with my father in the city talking about my new school. -
Death of my first brother
The death of my brother was a difficult one. He was the first of my brothers and it was very traumatic. -

Graduation from high school

It was an excting time, however, I realized that I was now in charge of my future, and whether I liked it or not, this was the beginning of my life. I was now responsible for the path my life would take. -
My First Job
My first job was working as a teacher's assistant at the Knockalva Secondary School. I was extremely excited and soon realized was the working world entailed. I moved from the educational department to the adminstrative department where I worked in the clerical as well as the accounting area. -
Birth of my daughter
On December 16, 1991, my daughter was born. She was a six pounder and she was my priority. She was a gentle child and still is. -
Emigration to Canada
In July of 1996, I emigrated to Canada. It was a difficult experience and was tempted more than once to return home. I met a wonderful group of church people and my experience as a new immigrant became better. -
Visit to Jamaica
[Vacationing in Jamaica](hthttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gU4kUTr-Q48&feature=relatedtp://)I was able to visit Jamaica for the first time since leaving. It was a well anticipated trip and I spent one month there. My departure was a bittersweet one, since I was once again leaving my family. -
Union of mother and daughter
My daughter joined me in Canada, and that was one of the greatest feelings. It was a new beginning for both of us and I had to be reintroduced to the art of being a mother. -
Entrance to university in Canada
Mount Royal UniversityEntered Mount Royal University in Calgary to pursue my Education degree. I spent two and a half years there and received a General Studies Certificate. -
Entrance to Canadian University College
I moved from Calgary, Alberta to Lacome to pursue my goal at Canadian University College. It was quite different from the big city, but I survived. -
My father's death
While taking seven courses in the spring and summer of 2004, I experienced the death of my father. It was heartbreaking experience and I came to the realization that I should not take life for granted. I often remember the advice my father gave to my brothers and I. -
Graduation from University
I graduated from Canadian University College with my Bachelor's degree in Education. Great experience and all the hard work paid off. -
First teaching job in Canada

My daughter's graduation
My daughter graduated from high school and it made me proud. She had worked hard and had finally paid off. -
My Daughter's entrance to university
My daughter's first semester in college. I was excited for her, prayed with her and gave her advice before she started the school year. -
Purchased my house
Purchased my first house and was blessed with exactly what I was looking for. It was not a difficult decision to make in my purchase. Walked in and knew right away that this was the house I wanted and left it in God's hands. -
Pursuit of Master's Program
LSU homepageThe pursuit of higher learning is inevitable, and so I have started taking courses towards my Master's program. This is through the extended La Sierra University at the Canadian University College in Lacombe, Alberta. It is a lot of work, however, I have met new people and I am also increasing my academics. Love higher education. -
Lincoln, Nebraska
Traveled to Lincoln, Nebraska to attend a Singapore Math seminar at Union College. I had the opportunity of visiting the College that issued my degree. -
Daughter off to Walla Walla
[Walla Walla](hthttp://www.wallawalla.edu/tp://)Packed up a van with all the necessities a young lady would need for college. Drove all the way to Walla Walla University in order for her to start school in January. It was a bittersweet experience that we have both survived.
