The Maurya Empire was founded. Founded by Chandragupta Maurya, India finally achieved political unification. -

Asoka
Asoka was said to be the greatest leader of the Mauryan Empire. After he conquered Kalinga he gave up his violent ways and spread Buddhism all over. -

Collapse of Maurya
The Mauryan Empire declined after Asoka's death because there were no strong leaders after and the border states started declaring their independence. Eventually, it collapsed and was ruled by many princes in different kingdoms. -

The Golden Ages started in 319 CE. This was a time for the Gupta Empire to start up and grow. Ancient India was prospering at this time with many advances like astronomy. -
