Ramses II reined from 1279 B.C. to 1213 B.C. Under Ramses II the "Sea People" drove the Egyptians back to their original frontier ending the Egyptian Empire. -

King Tutankhamen
1347 B.C.
KIng Tutakhamen became a boy-pharaoh in 1347 B.C. and he was the one to restore the old gods. He was the cause of Akhenaten's death. -
Jan 29, 1364
Akhenaten Takes the Throne
1364 B.C.
This was a troubled period because it was under the rule of Akhenaten, who worhiped Aten, god of the sun disk. He closed the temples of the old gods which did not sit well with the Egyptians. They saw this action as the end of Egypt. -

Thutmose III Becomes Pharaoh
1470 B.C.
One of the first women to become Pharaohs was Hatshepsut. She was a succesful leader but when she died, Thutmose III became the new Pharaoh. thutmose III led many military campaigns into Syria, Palestine, and Libya. -

The New Kingdom
1550 B.C
The New Kingdom began after the Middle Kingdom had ended with the invation of Hyksos. Enventually the Hyksos were driven out by a dynasty of Pharaohs. During this period, Egypt was in it's most powerful state in Southwest Asia. -
End OF The Middle Kingdom
1650 B.C.
The golden age collapse due to the people of western Asia, the Hyksos. There used war chariots that surprised and overwhelmed the Egyptian soldiers because they used donkey carts. -
The Middle Kingdom
2055 B.C.
After the Old Kingdom finished, the Middle Kingdom began in 2055 B.C. This age was known as an age of stability as Egypt expanded. -
The Great Pyramid of King Khufu at Giza
2540 B.C.
The Great Pyramid of KIng Khufu in the largest of all the pyramids built. This pyramid covers 13 acres. It was built at Giza and under King Khufu. -
The Old Kingdom
2700 B.C.
The Old Kingdom began around 2700 B.C. and ended around 2200 B.C. During the Old Kingdom, ancient Egypt was ruled by pharaohs who were mummified after they died and put into pyramids with offerings for the god of the afterlife. -
Upper and Lower Egypt Unite
3100 B,C,
The upper and lower villages of Egypt were united by King Menes. He created the first royal dynasty. Now the kings of Egypt would be called the King of Upper and Lower Egypt, and they would wear a double crown.
