    This is important because before they had no measurement between lines and exact coordinates on a map.

    Claudius Ptolemy

    Claudius Ptolemy discovered the Greek knowledge of the universe.
    This is important because many early scientists learned from his discoveries.
  • 1500

    Nicolaus Copernicus

    Nicolaus Copernicus discovered the heliocentric theory of the universe.
    This is important because everyone thought everything revolved around the earth.
  • 1550

    Tycho Brahe

    Tycho Brahe discovered over 1000 stars and showed irregularities in the moons orbit.
    This discovery is important because it showed people that there is an outer space that is very large.

  • Johannes Kepler

    Johannes Kepler discovered the 3 laws of planetary motion.
    This is important because before him nobody knew how the planets rotated and the relationship between the planets and the sun.

    Sir Isaac Newton discovered the laws of gravity and the 3 laws of motion.
    This is important because before this nobody knew what gravity was and how objects moved.

    Albert Einstein discovered that gravity is a curved field in space and time.
    This is important because many thought that gravity was just on earth.
