She had a large influence on soul music over the course of her short life.

    An interview with CNN revealed Amy's drinking had resulted from her breakup and the hard times she was going through including her time off work. She did not think she had a problem even though she was "drinking a lot" and her managers required her to go to a rehabilitation center; she felt she did not need the help. These problems influenced her music and was her focus in songs such as "Back to Black" and "Rehab" (CNN).

    Unannounced, Amy married Blake Fielder-Civil in Miami on May 18, 2007. They had an on and off relationship for over two years but had only been back together for about a month (Orloff). Blake and Amy had a seemingly negative relationship. There was multiple occasions of domestic abuse between the two. Amy had also self harmed by carving his name into her stomach. He had inspired her song "Back to Black" (Obituary). Blake did not have a positive impact on her life and caused many of her problems.

Amy Winehouse confidently wears her vintage dress, beehive updo, wiged eyeliner, and sports sailor tattoos on her arms (Amy Winehouse The Soul). In an interview she explains her look; "I love the '60s thing just because it's so naive and innocent. And dramatic" (Hyde). Amy always looked confident in her own skin and that contributed to her care free attitude.

    Amy Winehouse was found dead in her North London home on July 26, 2011. Although no illegal substances were found in her system she had 416mg of alcohol per 100ml of blood which ended her life. She had refused intensive therapy and rehab and had wanted to do things her own way (Amy Winehouse death). Amy's was hopeful about her life but her demons eventually overcame her causing her death. Amy left a unique mark on soul music and influenced many artists. She will not be forgotten.
