    After finshing school on the east coast, Amy Poehler moved to Chicago to pursue her career in improvisation acting. She was apart of ImprovOlympics and Second City, both of which are prestigious improv groups.
  • Move to the Big Apple

    Amy moved to New York in 1996 with their improv troupe to have it aired on late night shows like The Conan O'Brien Show, As the years went on it eventually got it's own spot on Comedy Central (Biogrpahy.com Editors).
  • Big break

    In September of 2001, all of Amy's dreams came true. She would finally star in her first real Saturday Night Live show. After years of college work and long nights of practicing with her troupes she would finally do what she had always wanted to. Be able to be on the stage where so many great names had been before her was indescribable, Ever since that day Amy Poehler has made many apperances on SNL and will continue to do so for a long time coming.   • Parks and Recreation

    Amy, known for being a comedian, stared in Parks and Recreation. When asked in an interview what her favorite part about being Lesile Knope (her chracter) she talked about how she was always upbeat. Since she was so upbeat and positive all the time, it was hard for Amy to stay like that which gave her some obsticales to over come. Fear not Amy rose to the challenge and Leslie Knope has been a beloved chracter on television ever since the shows debut, ("Parks and Recreation")

    Wanting more to do that just act, Amy pushed her boundaries and became an author. She wrote Yes, Please to share her stories in a way people could relate and laugh along with her.     Amy Poehler and Tina Fey go hand in hand. It was no surprise that they both hosted the 2015 Golden Globes. During the award show they both had the audience crying in their seats from the unending stream of jokes. Amy has confidence to spare, anyone who can stand in front of that many people and make jokes would. She has self-confidence which is inspiring for others. Be able to host the show was another dream of hers espically being able to do it with one of her best friends, (Drinkwater, Paul)

    Being a comedian, Amy is not afraid of who she is. In an interview with AOL Build, she openly states her opinon on feminism.
