Death of sister
Amy's 3 year old sister dies of an unknown illness. The death had affected her causing depression later into her teens. The dark lyrics she wrote alarmed her mother enough to suggest counseling and medication. Ultimately, she did not take any antidepressants.
Songs included in her Evanescence years such as "Hello" and "Like You" are said to be about her sister. -
