    The Townshend Acts taxed anything that was being imported to any colony. This led to an up-riot in the colonist's, making them rebellious.

    The Boston Massacre ignited the Revolutionary War. Several British soldiers were being harassed by a large group of rioting colonists on a late snowy night. 5 of the colonists were killed, along with another 6 wounded.

    Many different colonists came together to talk about the troubles of the British. They first talked about making a list of reports of them catching the British not giving the colonists natural rights.

    This act did lower taxes on tea, but it made the British start a monopoly in the tea business. Many Merchants were affected negatively by the Tea Act. A very high percentage of the colonists then started to boycott tea.

    This was retaliation to the Tea Act from the colonists. Around 130 men dressed up as Indians and dumped over a million dollars worth of tea today into Boston Harbor.

    The British responded to the Boston Tea Party with this. The Intolerable Act is made of five ridiculous laws. One of the most outrageous was the Quartering Act: Housing and feeding a British Soldier for no cost to the Soldier.

    The First Continental Congress had its first official meeting after the initiation of the "Intolerable Acts". Two delegates from every colony (except Georgia) had met up in Philadelphia. They first discussed what to do by reacting to the British. They decided to do more boycotting and prepare for war by starting to form militia armies.
  • The Battle of Lexington and Concord

    The Battle of Lexington and Concord
    This was the first battle of The American Revolutionary War. The first shot fired in Lexington is known as "The Shot Heard Around the World". The British were attempting to get the colonist's weapons that were all hidden away in Concord. Some militias were trying to go get the weapons to rehide away from the British. 70 militia fended off 700 British soldiers just in time for the others to get away with the weapons.

    After The Battle of Lexington and Concord, a new congress was formed. Some delegates like Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, and John Hancock wanted to just straight up declare independence but, almost everyone else thought they should just go to war. So, they made a Continental Army and elected General George Washington to be the Commanding Chief of the Continental Army.
