  • Battles of Lexington and Concord

    Battles of Lexington and Concord
    Gage decided to take a group of 700 men to go seize the arms and ammunitions from Concord and Worcester. He was stopped by 130 minutemen, 70 carrying guns, waiting outside Lexington. Then when the british went to Concord, 150 minutemen gathered to confront the approaching british troops. Then the british retreated to Boston being chased by the militia men who sniped them from the forests on the way back.

    Bunker (Breed's Hill)
    The Americans began to fortify breed's hill and then the british opened fired and they continued working. When the british came up the hill the militia men were told not to fire until they can see the whites of the british soldiers eyes. The british's third attack was succesful because the americans were tired. The British won but they had 226 dead, 828 injured. The americans had 140 dead and 271 wounded.

    The Battles of Trenton and Princeton
    on Christmas day three american divisions set forth to cross the Delaware River for the attack on Trenton. They reached the New Jersey shore at 3 am and started a 19 mile march towards Trenton. They arrived at day break and the troops couldn't organize a defense and retreated. Knox fired on the Hessian soldiers. The fight lasted an hour and a half taking 900 prisoners, 22 dead and 93 wounded. The Americans suffered no causialties.
  • Fort Ticonderoga

    Fort Ticonderoga
    Bendict Arnold went to go cature the Fort Ticonderoga and on the way met up with Ethan Allen leading 100 Green Mountain Boys from New Hampshire. They went across the lake arriving at day break. The south wall had crumpled from a misfired sentry gun. They did not fire the shot and they captured the fort, 50 prisoners, and 100 cannons.

    After causing the militia men to go off course they troops days later begin to fight in the woody area. Fought all afternoon, British won but suffered 556 casualties and Americans 287. Sent 7000 British troops to capture an American post with ease. Then he split up the army and went and captured Fort Campbell and Clinton. The British general was killed by Americans and they retreated. The Americans captured the troops and made them go back to England and never participate in the war again.
  • Seige of Charlestown

    Seige of Charlestown
    British broke ground and made trenches within 800 yards of the American fort. The trenches neared completion on April 13 and the British began to bombard the town. The Americans did not surrender according to the terms of Clinton until the British at. tacked the city mercilessly until the Americans surrendered to the terms finally. British gained 5000 prisoners, 400 artillery and 6000 muskets and ammunition.
  • King's Mountain

    King's Mountain
    When the British went to go attack the frontier rebel militia the americans snuck up on either side of the mountain and attacked the soldiers. The British was sent into retreat and the British general was shot and they surrendered. The Americans had 28 dead and 64 wounded. The Loyalist soldiers lost 157 and 163 were wounded. They also captured 700 prisoners
  • Battle of Yorktown

    Battle of Yorktown
    1500 allied troops began building trenches up to within 300 yards of the British main defenses. The American and French troops each captured a British redoubt. The British sent out a naval retreat but couldn't go because of storms so Washington asked for a cease fire for 2 hours to get a written proposal from the British. They surrendered. Americans took over 7000 prisoners as they turned in their guns. This was the climax of the revolutionary war.
