William Howe is placed in command of the British Army by Thomas Gage and is humbled in battle of Bunker Hill. He continues to embattle George Washington and eventually leaves the war in the month ofOctober 1777. Howe's contribution to the war gave the British a solid foothold in the Americas. -
Francis Marion
Marion was appointed a Captain in South Carolina by the Continental Congress and escaped the capture of Charlestown. He then was turned away by General Gates. He contributed to the war by introducing Guerilla tactics against the British and thwarted their movements with local resistance and hostility of the towns peeples in the region. -
Nathanael Greene
Nathanael Greene was appointed a brigadier of the Continental Army by the Continental Congress and later placed in command of Boston by George Washington. He was vital to the supplies and resources used by the Continental Army and was successful in wearing down and took a major role in the defeat of General Cornwallis. -
